Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of Mad Net. By creating an account, submitting a brief, or requesting an introduction, you agree to them.
The plain-language version
- We help you find and meet exceptional engineers. You write a brief, we curate candidates, and we organise warm introductions over WhatsApp.
- You only pay if you hire someone we introduced. Mid-level engineers are USD 5,000 and senior engineers are USD 10,000 per successful hire.
- Every introduction is consent-based. We will not pass your details to a candidate (or theirs to you) without explicit consent on both sides.
- We do our best to match the right people, but we make no guarantee of outcome, fit, or hire.
1. Who we are and what this is
Mad Net (the “Service”, “we”, “us”) is a curated talent network operated for the purpose of helping companies and founders (“you”, “User”) discover and meet exceptional engineers, AI researchers, technical founders, and investors. The Service is provided by Mad Net AS and powered by the AI Mad Lab community.
2. Eligibility and account
You must be at least 18 years old and authorised to enter into a binding agreement on behalf of yourself or the entity you represent. You are responsible for the information you provide during onboarding and for keeping your account credentials secure.
3. Briefs and recommendations
You can create a brief by describing the role you are hiring for. Our system generates an initial set of candidate recommendations from our network; a Mad Net operator then reviews and curates that set before any candidates are shared with you.
Recommendations are best-effort. We do not guarantee that any specific candidate is available, willing, or a fit, and we do not guarantee that any specific brief will yield a match.
4. Introductions and consent
When you click “Request intro” on a recommended candidate, you authorise us to contact that candidate on your behalf to ask for their consent to a warm introduction. Introductions are typically organised over WhatsApp by a Mad Net operator.
We will not share your contact details with a candidate, or theirs with you, without explicit consent on both sides. Either party can decline an introduction at any time, and may withdraw consent before an introduction takes place.
5. Fees: success-only pricing
You only pay when you successfully hire a candidate that Mad Net introduced to you. The standard fee per successful hire is:
- USD 5,000 for mid-level engineers.
- USD 10,000 for senior engineers.
Seniority is set by Mad Net based on the candidate’s profile and is shown on each candidate card before you request an introduction. There are no monthly fees, no retainers, no per-introduction charges, and no fees for unsuccessful briefs.
A “successful hire” means you (or any entity you control or represent) enter into an employment, contractor, advisory, or co-founder agreement with a candidate introduced through Mad Net within 12 months of the introduction. If you hire a candidate we introduced, you agree to notify us within 14 days and pay the applicable fee via the Stripe payment link we provide.
6. Refunds
Because fees only apply on successful hires, refunds are not generally applicable. If a candidate’s engagement ends within 30 days of the start date for reasons not attributable to your conduct, contact us and we will work with you on a replacement candidate or a partial refund at our discretion.
7. No warranty, no guarantee
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any specific brief, recommendation, or introduction will result in a hire. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mad Net disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mad Net’s aggregate liability arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service will not exceed the fees you have paid to Mad Net in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to liability. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
9. Acceptable use
You agree not to: (a) misrepresent yourself or the role you are hiring for; (b) use the Service to harass, defame, or discriminate against any candidate; (c) attempt to bypass Mad Net to avoid the success fee on a candidate we introduced; or (d) scrape, redistribute, or resell any data obtained from the Service.
10. Privacy and data
We process candidate and user data to operate the Service. We will not sell your personal data. Candidates included in your recommendations have given consent to be part of the Mad Net network, and a separate consent step gates every individual introduction.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we do, we will post the new version here with an updated “Last updated” date and, where the changes are material, require you to accept them again before continuing to use the Service.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Norway. Any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Oslo, Norway, unless required otherwise by applicable consumer-protection law.
